First Foods

On Sunday Nora was welcomed into the world of big people food! What was on the menu you ask? Single grain rice cereal! Yummmm!

Here's how it went...

Curious about the food.

More interested in the spoon than the food.

Max wanted in on the action!

Not so curious about the food anymore.

"If you shove it down my throat I'll eat it, but otherwise I am much happier just being nursed!" ~ Nora

I Do...

This past weekend was a memorable one!

We made our first plane ride with a baby, we visited a state we had never been to before and Andrew and Lydia got married!

Andrew is a good friend of Paul's from college, so when he called in January and told Paul that he was getting married and the wedding would be in Michigan, we immediately bought our tickets and started preparing for this very big adventure.

Things I learned flying with a 5 month old.
  • pack an extra set of clothes for those unexpected blow outs!
  • carry them in the Snugly, forget about the stroller!
  • drug them...it makes life easier for everyone!

All in all, Nora was a very happy traveler.

Traveling is exhausting!

In Michigan; Michaela, Liam, Nora and I visited the John Ball Zoo. The weather was great and we had a fun time seeing all the animals.

Nora watching the lions.

At the wedding, Paul was a groomsmen so he got to be extra dressed up!

The California gang!

Handsome men!

Beautiful ladies!

Playing in the Chicago airport, waiting until we could board.

The trip was a blast. We had a ton of fun spending time with friends and seeing new places.
Congratulations Andrew and Lydia!

No More Delay!

No more procrastinating, today is the day we must
give to Caesar what is Caesar's!

He Has Risen!

Happy Easter to you all!

Here are few snap shops depicting our day of Easter fun!

We hope your day was full of festivities, time spent with loved ones, and remembering what this day is all about!

Michaela, Liam, Cathryn & Nora

Nora didn't like the grass...every time we would put
her on the grass she would cry! Liam was trying to console her!

On the grass again and not liking it!

The Easter Bunny brought Nora sunglasses in her basket and amazingly enough she keeps them on her face!
Happy Easter!

Three's Company

So here I go, diving off into the world of blogging. I don't know if I'll be any good or if I will even be able to keep this up, but what does it hurt to try.

The point in creating this blog for me is to have a common place where family and friends can come and enjoy recent photos and experiences that our little family is having. My only request of you is to enjoy and that you not comment on my grammar...in this format I am without my proofreader and that scares me quite a bit!

So here goes nothing!

Basic Standen facts:

Paul Standen: husband, father, High School Ministries Director, miser, and avid sports fan.

Cathryn Standen: wife, mother, administrative assistant, spend thrift, and constant putterer!

Nora Standen: daughter, perpetual drooler, professional pooper!

Photos will be posted often, news will be current, and commentary will be kept to a minimum, so please come back for more!
