Pura Vida

This past week Paul and I had the awesome opportunity to go to Costa Rica with friends from our church. The trip was amazing! The weather was humid, I felt like I had come home! The time we spent together was full of activities, games, swimming, and of course eating! We did not take Nora with us so it was the longest the both of us had ever been away from her. It was great having the respite and it was great coming home and seeing her smiling face!

Here is a brief snapshot of the trip!

On every vacation I take a picture of Paul looking out our window...here it is for this trip. I called Paul, Moses, because our bed was made like a basket!

The endless pool made Paul want to install one in our backyard but I kept telling him it needs to look out at something and our fence just wouldn't cut it!

Ready for some high stakes adventure!

The girls took a cooking class one night. After we were done the boys joined us and we ate our fixings for dinner. We cooked vegetables, snapper, and chocolate lava cake. Everyone said it was delicious, even if they weren't huge fish fans!

On our last day there we took a jungle river cruise (kind of like the one at Disneyland) and we saw crocodiles, monkeys, iguanas, lots of different birds, and the seldom seen Jesus Christ iguana!

The crocodile got so close Paul wanted to pet it.
He was urged not to and thus came home in one piece!

White Faced Monkeys
It was so fun seeing so much wild life and not being in a zoo!

Feeding the monkeys!

Mama's Taken Us to the Zoo Tomorrow...

On Monday, Michaela and I took an excursion to Happy Hallow, a very kid friendly "amusement park" / Zoo. It was great fun! The kids loved seeing all the animals, hearing them make their noises and realizing we weren't just making things up when we said a cow goes Mooooo! Going into the park we knew that kids under 2 got in free but unbeknownst to us it was 'mother's go free day' so the whole experience was free...and you can't beat free!

Here are a few pictures from the day!

Where should we go first?

Who's staring at who?

This ride Nora was too short to go on,
but we had fun cheering for Liam!

As we were walking out we were stopped by a family of ducks. We offered them some of our sandwiches and in return they stuck around for a little bit and the human babies and the ducklings got to have a great interaction!

Happy Mother's Day

To all the women and mothers in our lives that have blessed us, guided us, taught us and loved us, we thank you!

This Mother's Day was about setting realistic expectations.

This video is what I got from Nora for Mother's Day. It, along with Paul's loving remembrances, exceeded my expectations and made the day one of the best to date!

Anyone Need Saving?

Our good friend Carrie got Nora these two hats.
Should we need saving we will be ready!
Thanks Carrie, Liam loves the hats, Nora is still sceptical!

Whatcha Doing?

Nora and Liam like to "hide" next to our back wall behind the trees.
They walk along the wall, sit on the ledge and probably plot their escape plan. It looks like they are up to no good when they are back there!

White Trash Moment

Last week we went shopping and decided to eat at the Mall. I could have sworn I packed a bib for Nora but when I went to put it on her it was nowhere to be found. She was wearing a pretty cute shirt and since I am deficient in getting stains out I decided to just take her shirt off and let her eat shirtless in the middle of the mall! It was our White Trash moment of the week. Enjoy!
