Arranged Friendship

When your parents are best friends their children have no choice but to be friends too!

Liam and Nora were born 5 months apart and when Nora was a newborn the differences were huge, now she has caught up some and soon they will both be giving each other a run for their money!

Take a look at the progression. The first picture is in November 2008

April 2009...
Sometimes we think Nora might like Liam more than Liam likes Nora. This could be trouble down the road!

Memorial Day a Very Memorable Day!

This past weekend we celebrated Memorial Day and along with remembering the men and women who have died for our country we also introduced Nora to the ocean for the first time.

On Monday we went to Santa Cruz, had a wonderful breakfast, found a clean enough beach and plopped our kid on it!

Here are a few cute pictures depicting our day.

She loved the sand but hated the cold water.

Then, when we got home and had dinner we noticed that Nora had broken through her first tooth! All-in-all, it was a very memorable Memorial Day!

It Will Be My First Party Father!

Over the weekend we got the pleasure of joining the Shulls for Liam's 1st birthday. This was Nora's first kid birthday party to go to, so it was extra special. The party was great, we had fun seeing friends, riding the train, getting a little sun, and watching Liam eat cake!

Here are a few pics from the day.

Nora's first train ride! We also got to ride the carousel but the camera died right before we saddled up, so that will just have to stay in our memories.

Happy Birthday to Liam!

By the looks of it, Liam loved his first cupcake!

Too much party for one little girl!

6 Months Oh My!

6 months have passed since our little one decided (actually we decided for her) to grace us with her presence.

Here are her professional pictures and also a few things we have learned in the last 6 months.
Never leave the house without an extra set of clothes...for the baby and for you!

Never be without a pacifier!

Spit up leaves a mark so don't go out of the house thinking it will dry clear!

Invest in earplugs. (that one's from Paul!)

One smile can brighten even the crummiest of days!

Good Golly Miss Molly Was Even There Too!

Splish Splash!

If there is one thing Nora loves to do it is taking a bath!

Here are a couple of pics of Miss. N fresh out of the tub.

We usually don't spend much time roaming around with out a diaper on but she had just peed on me (!!!!!) so I thought it was probably pretty safe to take a few quick pics.!

A Visit From the Folks

No deja vu, this is not a glitch in the system, this last weekend we had a visit from the folks, Paul's folks!

Paul's mom and dad, Paul and Laura, came into town on Friday and spent the weekend and Mother's Day with us. It was a great time of hanging out, shopping, playing putt-putt golf, and celebrating Mothers!
My baby who made me a mother!

We took a picnic to the park on Sunday.

Nora trying to figure out her sippy cup.

Ethan, Paul & Paul threw the frisbee around.

Nora enjoyed the shade and sitting on Nani's lap!

The weekend was fun and Mother's Day was beautiful!
Thank you Paul and Laura for coming down and visiting and thank you Nora for making motherhood something pretty special.

A Visit from the Folks

Last weekend my parents came for a visit! We always get a lot of projects done when they come. This last weekend included: taking out ugly juniper bushes, trimming overgrown garden, hanging countless pictures, getting Nora's 6 month pictures taken, making over 100 baby meals, and baking enough chocolate chip cookies for Paul's breakfasts to last him at least 2 weeks! (Yes, Paul eats chocolate chip cookies for breakfast, but they have oatmeal in them so that is how he justifies it!)

Here are a few pictures of our weekend.
Nora's 6 month pictures will be a later post.

The picture shelves behind the guys were built by Paul and Ethan, painted by Paul and Cathryn, and hung by Paul and Steve (my dad)! They thought the shelves would be better served as a glorified hat rack or cup holder. I think not!

Max, waiting for a free handout!

Thank you mom and dad for all your hard work and for the lovely visit!
