Can I Help?

Over Christmas we got a hot tub! I only have pictures from after we got it into the backyard, but the ordeal of getting it to our house and in our backyard was almost comical! The thing is deceptively heavy, not to mention, it was raining the entire time we were moving it so we got drenched and filthy. But here are the clean cute pictures of us (Nora) finally at the point of being able to fill and enjoy it.

At first Paul was filling the hot tub and then Nora came along and wanted to help...here is what came of that!

Misc. Pics.

Here are the last of the Hawaii pictures. They have no specific story or point to them...they're just cute!

The Standens with my mom and dad (Steve & Linda)

Blowing the conch at sunset, a great Hawaiian tradition.

Nora had everyone wrapped around her finger. Here she has her great uncle and her great great uncle bamboozled into walking around and around with her! Small but mighty she is!

One morning we got up WAY too early to go to the top of Haleakala to see the sun rise and then we biked down the volcano. It was amazing! The first third of the bike ride was freezing, the second third was thrilling, the last third was warm and wonderful!

Nora discovered the wonders of toilet paper while we were there!

That small white dot is Paul snorkeling!

This was our Christmas tree!

Swimming

Here are a few swimming pictures.

Nora was so funny about the ocean! The first two times we went in she screamed and hated every minute of it. Then I took her down for the third time just to sit and watch the waves, I hadn't planed on going in but after we sat for about 45 minutes Nora took my hands and just walked right into the water just like she was a fish! I didn't have a swimmy diaper on her or her bathing suit for that matter, but I didn't want to spoil her moment so we just went for it! From that time on she loved the water, the sand, and the waves!

Tub Sleeping

While we were in Hawaii we stayed at two different resorts. The first place didn't have a crib or pack-n-play so we had to improvise for the first night. We looked around and thought the best answer would be to put Nora in the tub! She slept GREAT so we decided to forgo the pack-n-play for the rest of the time we were there and just save the money!

Here is the evidence:

We could not believe how well she slept in there! PTL!!!

Traveling

Here are our travel days...a little weary, a little worn, a little wiggly!

Mele Kalikimaka

Over the Christmas holiday we went to Hawaii to vacation, celebrate my grandma's 90th birthday and spend time with family.

It was truly a wonderful vacation; one where we lost track of the day of the week, I stopped wearing my watch, I wore less make-up and got caught up on some much needed sleep not to mention worked very hard on my tan!

We would have to give Nora a strong 80% (B-) as a traveler. She slept a lot but she also screamed and cried a lot which really wasn't her fault being tired and cooped up. Yes we were those people with the crying baby on the plane. I never thought I would be those people, and now I have sympathy for those families just trying to make it to their destination in one piece!

Here is one token pictures summarizing the trip, with more pictures to come.
