A Sunny Day!

Presidents Day was a day off from work and it was a beautiful sunny day! So we decided to venture out, take Max to the dog park and feed the ducks.

The outing was wonderful! It was nice to get out and breath some fresh air, Max was a little overwhelmed by all the other dogs and Nora thought that feeding the ducks was the craziest thing ever! All-in-all it was great fun!

Some for Max...

...some for me and then maybe some for the ducks!

One Curious Kid

The other day, I was diligently doing laundry in the garage, separating lights from darks, attacking stains and trying to figure out how color safe bleach really works. Meanwhile Nora had toddled out to join me, but instead she found something much more entertaining!

Max is wondering if nothing is sacred anymore!

Happy Valentines Day

On Fridays, Nora's good friend Liam comes over to play. This last Friday was the 12th but in an effort to spread the love we celebrated Valentine's Day a little early.

Here are a few snapshots of our early Valentine's Day!

The day began with heart shaped banana pancakes.

The kiddos LOVED them...couldn't get enough.
I think each of them had like 8 each!

I was very proud of my festiveness!

Then we made valentines.
Liam made one for his mom and Nora made one for her daddy.

We also made baked goods for my co-workers and
we went and delivered them.

For lunch we had heart shaped grilled cheese sandwiches and
then went down for a much needed nap!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Dance Party

Growing up we had a little white fluffy dog named Lucy. She was a dependable low-maintenance dog who had few opinions, except for when she had to get bathed. We would usually wash her in our utility sink and once she was done we would put on some music and she would do her wet dog dance. She would shake, wiggle, and scoot along the carpet to get every drop of moisture off of her!

We have adopted this same kind of after-bath dance party with Nora. She really hates getting her hair washed so we usually wait to do that at the end of her bath, then we whisk her out, put on some of her favorite tunes and we have an after-bath dance party in honor of Lucy, Nora and all of us who hate to get our hair washed!

Nora and Daddy dancing!
This was a more glam dance party...usually she just runs around naked as a jay bird!

A Couple More Firsts...

Since January 10 Nora has become a fully independent walker! With this new found talent has come freedom, curiosity, and our first trip to the ER!

"I'm so happy to be walking! This is so fun...

... Except when I fall." ~Nora Standen

Right before bed on Saturday night,
Nora took a headlong right into her dresser!

3.5 hours in the ER, 4 stitches, 1 enema and we were headed home ready to sleep it off and forget about the whole ordeal!

We're on the mend!
I wonder what the next "first" will have in store for us?!?!
