Sweet Summer Days

Where did summer go? I know time flies but I didn't think it went at warp speed! At the beginning of summer I had grand plans of projects to get done and swimming everyday...well we are just days away from fall and although we made some great memories this summer I will have to extend some of my projects to the fall and give myself credit for doing the best I could!

Here is, what will probably be, our last swimming excursion of summer with our friend Liam.

Bon voyage sweet summer...until next year!

I Need to Just Hose You Off!

Nora, and I know she is not alone in this, gets sooooo messy when eating that often I have been tempted to take her outside and hose her off. Well last night I did and here is how it went.

This is fun!

The fun and games were over once we got her head wet! Then there was a lot of crying and shivering! At least now we can say we have actually hosed off our kid!

Splish Splash

Last Thursday Michaela and Liam came over for the day. We cooked a great meal for a new mom in our church, played at the park, got dirty, got sweaty (cooking really heats up the house) and had a great time. By the end of the day the babies were growdy so we decided to throw them in the bath together before they headed to bed!

Here is their bath encounter!

All clean!

4th and Final Stop!

Our last stop was in Jacksonville, OR. This was a very cute little historic town which boasted great fishing. Paul didn't feel up for fishing so we just enjoyed the quiet peaceful surroundings that the town offered.
I didn't have my camera with me when we took our walks so this is only a quick shot on our way out of town.

Vacation...Stop #3

Our next stop on our vacation was Crater Lake. Paul and I had never been there and I have to say that it surpassed my expectations. Definitely worth a visit if you are passing through Oregon.

Pictures don't do it justice but here are a few fun ones.

Vacation...Stop #2

Stop #2 was in Ashland Or. Here we swam, strolled, and saw a play!
I tried to snap a shot of Welcome to Oregon but it zoomed by too fast before I could capture it and Paul wasn't stopping!!!

Swimming at the hotel.

We saw Much Ado About Nothing. It was a great time spent on our own and the play wasn't to shabby either!

Here is a picture of the stage. Photography is not allowed in the theatre but I was just snapping away and then I got told to "put that camera away!" So enjoy my contraband photo!

Vacation

Paul returned from Survival Camp a week ago and then last week we took a vacation to regain some of the energy lost while working so hard!

This entry will be split up into many entrys because we had many memorable stops.

Stop #1 Grammy and Pappy's house.

Picking tomatoes with Grammy

Eating and squishing tomatoes with Grammy.

Picking Gravenstein apples.

Our first stop was excellent; we spent time in the garden, visited my brother, and had a great dinner with my grandma (Nora's great-grandma!).

A Drive, A Wedding, and An Owie

Paul's cousin got married this past Saturday in San Louis Obispo. So on Saturday we packed everything up and made the 3.5 hour drive. It was nice to have the time to get caught up with Paul since he just returned from all his travels. The wedding was great! It was outside, the weather was fantastic and the bride looked beautiful! At the reception Nora was a champ even into the late hours of the evening, until she fell and scrapped her gums. After the tears and blood stopped we packed everything back up and made our way back home. All-in-all, it was a very full, happy, and worthwhile day!

Here are a few pics from the day.

My two regrets are that I didn't get a picture with the bride and groom, they looked like a bride and groom, you can picture the rest! And the second one was that I didn't get a picture of the Standen extended family all duded up. Oh well, I'll have to get it at the next wedding...maybe Eric's!
