Summer 2011

I love summer and as this past Tuesday marked the first day of summer I am again inspired to soak it up, not let this time slip away and to do as much as possible. And by "doing" that can simply mean sitting by a pool and reading. There is great value in "doing" nothing in my book! There is also great value in getting stuff done which is the mighty battle that rages inside of me all the time, but I digress!

With this desire to make the most of summer 2011 here is my list of the things I would like to do, in hopes that I will be held accountable and I will look back on this summer and see a few tangible and not-so-tangible accomplishments.

1. Make my t-shirt quilt. I have had the t-shirts and the pattern for this quilt for about 5 years. Now is the time to get it done!

2. Can applesauce. (Yes, Michaela, this is now on your list too!)

3. Swim a lot!

4. Go to Safari West with the fam.

5. Decorate Nora's bedside stool. Right now she is using a bucket to get into bed, a true princess needs a thing of beauty next to her bed and not a bucket!

6. Go on lots of bike rides.

7. Walk to Baskin Robbins and have a scoop of ice cream as many times as Paul allows!

I think this does it for now. If I get too ambitious then I might get overwhelmed and not do any of this. Please feel free to check in with me anytime to see how the progress is coming. Here's to a summer of something and nothing!

Spring at a Glance

Our Spring flew by, as I am sure all of your's did too! Many fun-filled things happened and instead of feeling bogged down by the many blogs that I didn't post I am just going to give you the highlights, a potpourri, of the events that have happened these last couple of months.

Enjoy!

Paul started a new job at PG&E at the end of March and with it comes a new uniform when he is out in the field! My very own MacGyver!

Church picnic and Easter Egg Hunt.

Nothing better than melted chocolate eggs and white pants!

Easter Sunday.

Nora and Paul celebrated their 1/2 birthdays.

Camping inside!

Nora's preschool put on a Mother's Day performance...yes that is Nora just sitting there while all the other friends are singing and doing the motions. Oh well, at least she's cute!

Our Mother's Day outing to the Aquarium.

The start and completion of swim lessons!

Liam's birthday. We got him swimming accessories in hopes of a summer filled with water outings!

Liam's party at Happy Hallow.

Paul's last Sunday as the High School Director at Bridges Community Church.

Nora's first bike ride...really she was quite excited about this and had a really good time despite the somewhat contemplative look on her face in this picture!

Father's Day and breakfast in bed for Daddy!

And now you are up-to-date! Stay tuned for the Standen summer adventures!
